Why do I need a WordPress Website Care Plan?

Your WordPress website is a great investment and like any investment it makes good sense to look after it.

It is very important to always keep your website’s framework and plugins updated to ensure your website runs smoothly and keep potential hackers from trying getting into a web server through outdated software. Every month security and maintenance releases are published for the software used in your WordPress website and it is in your best interest that these updates are implemented as soon as possible.

If for some reason your website does get hacked, it is also good know that you’ve got access to a professional who will know what to do to remedy the situation and get your website back into business.

Can't I just update WordPress and the plugins myself?

You could update the WordPress core and plugins yourself—but would you really feel confident in doing this?

A WordPress Website Care Plan will ensure that your investment is properly updated, is secure and continues to run smoothly—giving you peace of mind and allowing you to spend time interacting with your audience and growing your business.

What happens if my website goes down, is hacked, breaks, etc?

One of the main purposes of the care plans is preventative care, so I work hard to prevent anything bad from happening.

I cannot promise your website will not be hacked but I can promise I will do everything I can to prevent it. However, in the case something does happen and your website needs some emergency care, I will be here to help in the restoration of the website from one of the backups.

If your website is hacked and requires cleaning, as opposed to restoring the site from a backup, then this is an expert field which should be processed by those who have the expertise; I am not responsible for cleaning a hacked site. I will liase with you though to help resolve the situation.

What if I need something outside the plans?

If you have a request that is beyond what is included in your care plan, please contact me to discuss it. When we’re clear on what’s required I will provide a separate quote for your approval before commencing any work.

Don’t forget I provide graphic design and photography services as well as website solutions.

Can I use my own web host?

Potentially, yes. I can review your current hosting to make sure it fits the purpose for your website. If I feel you will be better served by different hosting I will recommend an alternative.

What tasks are included in the dedicated support time? / What is included in the support ticket element?

Generally anything that can fit into the support time for the plan you are on. In the Maintain plan these would be small changes such as content changes, small design alterations, adding calendar events or uploading a blog post that you are providing the content and images for. The Grow and Excel plans allow for more complex changes and development.

Requests that would go over the included support time would be subject to a separate quote and approval before carrying out the task.

Can I cancel at any time?

Yes, you can.

I would love to continue building a valuable relationship with you but if you really need to go you can simply contact me to cancel your plan.

On cancellation, you will need to be aware of the minimum requirements that you will need to do yourself to help protect your investment and keep your site secure and in good working order.

Can I take out a WordPress Website Care Plan even if my website was not built by you?

Yes you can—and that would be a very wise decision!

First of all I would need to carry out out an evaluation of your website to see how it was built, any potential problems that could arise, if we are a good fit to work together and which Care Plan would suit you best. An evaluation fee of £200 will be charged for this service which will give you suggested solutions for how best to proceed.

How does the Monthly Consultation and Advice work?

These times work best either on the phone or via a video call and can help focus a trajectory of the website for growth and improvements. This time can also be used to screen-share small updates and for additional training.
